Beauty service providers needed a simple tool to manage their bookings, while users craved an effortless way to discover and schedule beauty appointments. How could we create a solution that served both seamlessly?

For the users, the goal was clear: allow them to browse beauty services, book appointments quickly, and get instant confirmation and reminders. For businesses, they needed a powerful tool that simplified booking management and gave them insights into their performance.

"What experience would delight both users and businesses?" The answer was to design a platform that removed the friction from booking beauty services, while providing businesses with the tools they need to succeed. I conducted interviews with beauty service providers and potential users. Their stories helped me form a deep understanding of the daily frustrations they faced.

"How can I create a seamless journey for users from search to booking?" and "How can I make managing multiple bookings as easy as possible for businesses?”

With the insights from my research in hand, I started by mapping out user flows for both users and businesses. I knew that simplicity was key. Users needed a straightforward path from discovering services to booking an appointment, while businesses required a dashboard that felt intuitive from day one.

From this, I built low-fidelity wireframes that stripped the experience down to its most essential parts. These wireframes went through multiple iterations, guided by the feedback I received during initial usability testing.

What Did the Final Design Look Like?

The final UI was designed to feel modern yet approachable. I chose a soothing colour palette to evoke a sense of calm, mirroring the beauty services offered on the platform.

In the user marketplace, the search bar and service filters were front and center. Users could quickly scan reviews, see available time slots, and book with just a few clicks. For businesses, the dashboard was clean and organizsed, with essential tools for managing services, tracking bookings, and even responding to customer reviews.

Reflecting on this project, one of the biggest challenges was balancing the needs of both users and businesses. I learned the importance of iterating quickly based on feedback, especially during the wireframing and prototyping stages.

If I could do it again, I would dive deeper into personalization features to give users tailored recommendations based on their past bookings. This would enhance the user experience even further. Looking ahead, I plan to integrate even more advanced features like AI-driven service recommendations and expanding payment options.
